ChatGPT Is Stealing
There’s this old expression about Standing on the Shoulders of Giants.
Look, that’s how we move ahead in this world.
Great thinkers evolve from great thinkers that came from before.
I wouldn’t be here without Ana Powers. My mentor was the most brilliant mind of the last few generations. But I added value to her concepts.
Ana’s vision of the internet is what drove me to create Sympile (that and getting thrown out of college).
But I added value to her concepts. I took her idea about giving away free stuff to drive traffic to a whole new level. It wasn’t just about showing people where to get a good cup of coffee, it moved into free email, free word processing, free spreadsheets . . . You get the idea.
Sympile’s search results always showed where the information came from. We always encouraged our users to go directly to the content creator’s websites.
And unlike Google, at Sympile, we never showed the actual answer in search results. It’s not right. Takes away visits from people who worked hard on creating content.
And now, ChatGpt isn’t even encouraging users to go to the websites that gave the AI the knowledge.
It’s not amazing. It’s just plain stealing.
Have a question? It’s Sympile.
